The White House Diary
The White House Diary site was built in 2012 using a multimedia software platform called Flash. Adobe discontinued Flash in December 2020, and in January 2021, websites using Flash — including this one — ceased to work in nearly all web browsers.
As alternatives to the White House Diary, we suggest:
- For extensive information on JFK's schedules, meetings, and trips during his presidency, we recommend the "John F. Kennedy: Presidential Meetings, Schedules, and Trips" guide on LibGuides. Of particular interest may be the final versions of John F. Kennedy's Appointment Books (from the President's Appointment Books collection), representing the President's daily activities, movements, and meetings with listed individuals.
- For a subset of diary entries presented in a book-like interface alongside audio and video, we recommend the Diary section of the President's Desk website. (This resembles the Flash-based White House Diary site.)
If the resources above do not have what you're looking for, please contact the JFK Library Reference Desk via email at Kennedy.Library@nara.gov.
Note: An archival copy of this Flash website is available upon request if you would like to attempt to reconstruct or emulate it. Please contact the JFK Library Foundation website team.
